Adding a key does not remove the others. STRATTEC notes the GM routine adds keys only. Clearing a missing key means the car re-registers its key list: Nissan's Intelligent Key registration erases every key and re-learns only the ones present, so every key and fob you own has to be there; GM's procedure for a push-button car with no recognized fob erases all previous fobs; Toyota and Lexus cars of 1998 to 2001 have an on-board "delete all but one key" sequence run with a master key. On the 2019 to 2021 Lexus ES 350, the dealer's own utility removes only the keys that are not present. 4Keys erases missing keys where the system allows it and registers the ones you hold again, in the same visit as the spare.
A second fob that came with the car but belongs to another vehicle may not help.
